PMHA Continues to Expand

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy is extremely pleased to announce we have received approval from Hockey Manitoba for the expansion of our Pilot Mound Hockey Academy Teams.

The 2022-2023 season will see the addition of a U18 Male Program to the Bufflao Herd.

With the addition of another 20 players, PMHA will have a total of 80 Buffaloes that will make Pilot Mound their home away from home in September 2022. There will be a U18 Female team, U15, U17 and the NEW U18 Male programs, all representing PMHA. This is the direction PMHA has been striving to achieve for the past 7 years; providing a PMHA Student Athlete the opportunity to come to Pilot Mound in U 15 or Grade 8 and continue to be educated at PMCI through to U18 or Grade 12; 5 years of continuous education and hockey development; a great opportunity for many.

The U18 team will encompass the addition of students mostly in Grades 11 and 12. We thank PMCI and PSSD for working so collaboratively with us all these years. They will be required to take a full academic course load and the U18 team will travel and participate the same as our current teams in the CSSHL. Another addition to staffing and students at PMCI.

The additional team will mean additional ice rentals for PMMRC and we are happy that we have such a tremendous recreation facility to call our Home and those dressing rooms are the absolute best. One more will be completed this summer. PMHA will continue to use ice rental time slots during the day for all four teams. That is the beauty of having the practices during school hours; it does not take away from any minor hockey or figure skating practice time slots. Having the additional hockey in the community for all to watch and enjoy is just a benefit. There will be more games and showcases throughout the year as well. This brings teams from afar to enjoy all that our area has to offer.

It is an exciting time Pilot Mound Hockey Academy to be part of the development of Student Athletes in Manitoba. Pilot Mound Hockey Academy looks forward to working with all of their hockey and community partners to bring another opportunity for hockey enthusiasts, as well as great economic development to our area. With 80 roster spots in total now available to Pilot Mound Hockey Academy Teams, we are very pleased to be taking on this new challenge and to move to next steps of this new venture.
