MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
"Fueling Futures in Hockey"
Pilot Mound Hockey Academy’s (PMHA’s) Hockey Mentorship Program is a 10-month program, from mid August to mid June, focused on helping and inspiring minor hockey players and elite athletes to achieve their hockey development, hockey IQ, personal growth, and hockey career advancement goals.
Designed by PMHA prep coaches and mentors, the PMHA Hockey Mentorship Program includes:
- Customized pairing and 1:1 relationship with a PMHA Mentor
- Initial and ongoing goal setting, review and adjustment
- Weekly or biweekly 1:1 mentorship sessions to review game video, prep for upcoming games/camps, hockey IQ education and development, evaluate/adjust goals, discuss personal growth, etc.
- Access to texts and calls with your PMHA Mentor
- In person or online PMHA Mentor game attendance and evaluation
- Optional Program Add On: Customized 1:1 on ice sessions that focus on individual skill and game play / hockey IQ development

Youth Development Focus
To cultivate young athletes into confident, skilled hockey players by providing elite training, character-building mentorship, and a supportive environment that fuels growth, resilience, and lifelong passion for the game.
Character & Leadership Focus
To develop not only exceptional hockey players but outstanding individuals—through rigorous skill development, personal mentorship, and a culture of integrity, discipline, and leadership on and off the ice.
Long-Term Athlete Success Focus
To empower athletes with the tools, mindset, and mentorship needed to chase excellence, master their craft, and thrive in every stage of their hockey journey—from grassroots to elite competition.
WHY PMHA HOCKEY MENTORSHIP?
Today’s hockey environment is focused on individual skill development and team game play, leaving little time to focus on individual skill correction/mastering or on developing skills to game (hockey IQ). Even at elite levels, the requirement to move a team of 20 players forward towards overall team development goals and success makes it difficult to provide customized individual attention toward mastering individual skills and hockey IQ for all individual athletes on the team.
PMHA Hockey Mentorship closes the gap on that missing piece of the overall hockey development experience through 1:1 hockey mentorship, contributing to enhancing overall individual and team success.
WHAT IS OUR GOAL?
We are committed to nurturing the next generation of elite athletes by developing both their on-ice performance and personal character. Through structured skill sessions and targeted mentorship, we help young players refine fundamental techniques, enhance game awareness, and build the mental resilience required to excel.
Our approach includes:
Progressive on-ice training focused on core skills, situational awareness, and read-and-react decision-making
Individual assessments to understand each athlete’s current skill level and cognitive development
Personalized development plans that leverage proven resources to elevate performance both on and off the ice
We believe greatness is cultivated through discipline, support, and a passion for growth—and we’re here to guide every step of that journey.
