Matteo Greico’s two-goal game helped Pilot Mound Hockey Academy get a 4-1 victory over Shawnigan Lake School. Cole Landreville (1G, 1A) opened the scoring for Pilot Mound on a give-and-go with Maddox Ramage 5:27 into the game. Pilot Mound doubled their lead with Fynn Huberdeau scoring on a rebound to give Pilot Mound a two-goal advantage heading into the room. 57 seconds into the second, Matteo Greico (2G) took advantage of another rebound chance off a Kai Dingwall shot extending Pilot Mound’s lead to 3-0. Later in the frame, Lucas Partridge-Mather point shot found its way through traffic on the power play for Shawnigan’s lone goal of the contest. Pilot Mound had a strong finish to the period. Greico got his second of the game with seven seconds left, finishing off a three-way passing play. Gavin Hildebrand (26/27) shut the door for Pilot Mound, stopping 26 of the 27 shots he faced in the win. Berkeley Walter (32/36) kicked out 32 shots for Shawnigan. Shawnigan finishes with an 0-2 record in round robin play. Pilot Mound concludes their round robin schedule against the Notre Dame Hounds tomorrow.

Notre Dame Hounds (2) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (3/SO) U15 Prep Division II Western Championships

Yuki Kido’s 50-save performance lifted Pilot Mound Hockey Academy to a 3-2 shootout win over the Notre Dame Hounds. Pilot Mound put lots of pressure on Notre Dame in the first period, outshooting them 21-12. That pressure led to the opening goal of the game from Hinata Hashimoto 13:21 into the game to give Pilot Mound a one-goal lead. Notre Dame fought back in the final minutes of the second, scoring twice in 1:28. Jax Baumuller evened the game up and shortly after Duke Lesnar found the back of the net to send Notre Dame into the dressing room with a 2-1 advantage. The back-and-forth battle continued in the third with Matsun Adams scoring the equalizer for Pilot Mound just over seven minutes into the third. The goalies took over after that with Notre Dame’s Hudson Pooler (56/58) and Pilot Mound’s Yuki Kido (50/52) standing tall to send the game to a shootout. Cole Landreville started off the skills competition with a beautiful move to get around Pooler and that marker would prove to be the difference. Kido was the other difference maker for Pilot Mound in the shootout, turning aside all three shooters he faced.

North Shore Warriors (1) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (7) U15 Prep Division II Western Championships Semi-Finals

Elias Mitrikas’ heroics, with a little help from a late game-winner from Sean Murphy, lifted the North Shore Warriors to the Western Championships semis. It was going to take a somewhat significant performance from Ashton Sims (31/38) between the pipes for the North Shore Warriors to better the undefeated Pilot Mound Hockey Academy, and through twenty minutes, it looked promising. North Shore were outplayed, but Sims stopped 14 of the 15 he faced, only beaten once by Brett Buors. Pilot Mound got a crucial second goal less than two minutes into the second period, with Kai Dingwall (2G) extending the lead. From there, the two teams traded chances throughout the second period, ultimately combining for 29 shots between the two squads in the middle frame alone. Pilot Mound earned a power play with barely under five minutes left in the second, and another goal from Dingwall extended the PMHA lead to three. Cole Landreville (1G, 2A) added another for Pilot Mound less than two minutes later, and by then, the damage was done for North Shore. Edward Kemp was able to pull them back within three in the last minute of the second, but three PMHA goals in the third put an exclamation point on Pilot Mound’s emphatic 7-1 semi-final victory.

Okanagan Hockey Academy (4) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (2) U15 Prep Division II Western Championships Final

Okanagan Hockey Academy beat Pilot Mound Hockey Academy 4-2 on Tuesday to capture the 2025 Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) U15 Prep Division II Western Championship.

Pilot Mound (Pilot Mound, MB) and OHA (Penticton, BC) came into the U15 Prep Division II Western Championships as the number one and two seed. Both teams would go 2-0 in the round robin to earn byes straight to the semi-finals. In the semis, Pilot Mound would crush the North Shore Warriors (North Vancouver, BC) 7-1, while OHA destroyed Notre Dame (Wilcox, SK) 9-0.

OHA outshot Pilot Mound 14-7 but it wasn’t until 1:18 left in the period that they put one up on the scoreboard as Cohen Short found Gage Mark (1G, 2A) backdoor for the tap-in goal. Maddox Ramage (2G) would tie the game 1:33 into the second period, as he fired the puck from the corner towards the front of the net where it bounced off an OHA defender and in. Henrik Alexander-Ward restored the OHA lead midway through the period as his shot snuck through under the arm of Yuki Kido (57/60) and trickled into the net.

Ramage would tie the game once again 7:11 into the second, cleaning up a loose puck in front after a great individual effort from Cole Landreville. OHA continued to drastically outshoot Pilot Mound leading to Nathan Marques (1G, 1A) taking a feed from Mark and burying it short side on Kido. From there, Maddox Slater (23/25) stopped every shot he faced and Ryder Young sank an empty netter with 33 seconds left to secure the OHA victory.
