2025 PMHA Female U18 Prep CSSHL Playoff Recap

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (3) vs North Shore Warriors (5) Female U18 Prep Division II Western Championships

Grace MacDonald (1G, 1A) roofed one upstairs to ignite the scoring in favour of North Shore just past the seven minute mark of the first period. Gemma Han doubled the Warrior’s lead a couple minutes later off a spectacular solo effort before slipping one five hole. Gia Carella (1G, 1A) made things 3-0 early in the second, but Pilot Mound would begin to show some push back. Traeh Hall and Jayden Quinn would score 14-seconds apart to erase the three goal advantage the Warriors had established. However, a point shot from Jaylah Bottle would go top shelf to restore a two goal lead for North Shore a few minutes later. Addison Scoville would keep the Buffaloes alive after finding her own rebound a mere two minutes later but Elise Miller (1G, 1A) would once again put the Warriors back ahead by two, stuffing home Lily Zohner’s (2A) initial shot before the end of the frame. The third would remain scoreless as Haylie Hedges (24/27) turned aside all seven Pilot Mound shots in the frame, backing the Warriors to their first win of the 2025 Western Championships.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (6) vs Balmoral Hall School (8) Female U18 Prep Division II Western Championships

The first and third periods for Pilot Mound Hockey Academy on Sunday were both very strong performances; they outshot their opponents in both, had plenty of chances, and scored more than their opponents in the first and last periods combined. The second period, though, was where Balmoral Hall School would do the vast majority of their damage; they managed five second-period goals, with two goals and three points from Shayna Bannister (3G, 2A) in the second period alone leading the way to Balmoral’s victory. Balmoral Hall ultimately won 8-6, thanks in part to Bannister adding another goal and assist in the third period, with the University of Manitoba commit scoring five points to lead the way to victory.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (0) vs Delta Hockey Academy Black (1/OT) Female U18 Prep Division II Western Championships Quarter-Finals

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy threw everything but the kitchen sink at the Delta Black goal in their quarter-final gam, but at every turn, Nicole Flesher was there. The Dalhousie University commit dazzled in a 44-save shutout victory over NAX in her first Western Championship game on Thursday and was back to her near-impeccable ways in her team’s first knockout game against Pilot Mound Hockey Academy. PMHA had two powerplay chances in the first period, ultimately outhsooting Delta Black 14-5, but couldn’t beat Flesher. The offensive threat from Delta Black grew as the game went on, but PMHA still managed 15 second-period shots on goal, all denied. The game continued in kind in the third, with Flesher ultimately stopping 17 shots in the third and helping Delta Black to overtime in a scoreless tie. Flesher made save number 47 in the first minute of overtime, and after Delta recovered the puck in the defensive zone, they’d swiftly work their way up ice. Abigail Jung picked the top corner
