Pilot Mound Hockey Academy Welcomes New Dorm Parent Madison McManaman

Pilot Mound, MB – Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (PMHA) is pleased to announce the hiring of Madison McManaman as the Academy’s newest Dorm Parent, where she will work alongside longtime Dorm Parent Sherri Morrow to support student-athletes living on campus.

McManaman brings a strong background in residence life, high-performance hockey, and athletic administration to her new role. Having grown up playing elite-level hockey in Prince Edward Island and later contributing to coaching through video analysis and analytics support, she understands firsthand the discipline, structure, and mental preparation required to succeed in competitive hockey.

A graduate of Olds College of Agriculture & Technology, McManaman holds a Sports Management Diploma as well as a Personal Training Diploma. Throughout her career, she has gained extensive experience supporting students in residence settings, mentoring young athletes, coordinating large-scale events, and leading sports administration initiatives. Her diverse experience provides a well-rounded perspective on the development of student-athletes both on and off the ice.

“We are excited to welcome Madison to the PMHA family,” said PMHA General Manager Nichole Collins. “Her background in hockey, student support, and athlete development makes her an excellent addition to our residence team. Drawing from her experience as an athlete, residence mentor, and sports administrator, McManaman is passionate about helping young athletes achieve balance in their academic, athletic, and personal lives. She is committed to fostering a welcoming environment where students feel supported, challenged, and empowered to reach their full potential.

MALE ADVANCEMENT – CASEY SILVERMAN

PILOT MOUND, MB – Pilot Mound Hockey Academy is proud to congratulate alumnus Casey Silverman on signing his first professional contract with the Rødovre Mighty Bulls of Denmark’s top professional hockey league, the Metal Ligaen.

The signing is a significant milestone for Silverman, who spent the past two seasons developing his game within the PMHA program while representing Denmark internationally. After gaining valuable experience in the Canadian prep hockey system, he now returns home with an opportunity to continue his development at the professional level.

A native of Hellerup, Denmark, Silverman joined PMHA’s U17 Prep program for the 2024-25 season and quickly established himself as a dependable two-way forward. During his U17 campaign, he recorded 7 goals and 16 assists for 23 points in 41 CSSHL games, while adding another 11 points in 13 exhibition and tournament contests.

He followed that with a strong season at the U18 Prep level in 2025-26, recording 5 goals and 9 assists for 14 points in 30 CSSHL games. His consistent work ethic, responsible play away from the puck, and commitment to improvement helped make him a valued member of the Buffaloes lineup.

Silverman’s development at PMHA also led to opportunities on the international stage. He represented Denmark at the IIHF U18 World Championship, helping the Danish national team secure another season in the tournament’s top division. His international experience, combined with the growth he demonstrated during his time in Pilot Mound, positioned him well for the next step in his hockey journey.

When announcing the signing, Rødovre described Silverman as an exciting young player with strong skating ability, a relentless work ethic, and significant potential for future growth. The organization expressed confidence in his ability to continue developing within its program while contributing to the club’s long-term vision.

Silverman’s path from PMHA to professional hockey is a testament to his dedication, perseverance, and willingness to embrace new challenges. A goaltender from Riverview, New Brunswick, Zackary has established himself as one of the hardest-working and most competitive athletes in the PMHA Male U18 Prep program. Throughout the season, he has demonstrated a relentless drive to improve, a fierce compete level, and the mental toughness required to excel in one of hockey’s most demanding positions.

“Zackary embodies everything you want in a goaltender. His compete level is exceptional, and he gives our team a chance to win every time he steps on the ice. He is a battler who never quits on a puck and never backs down from a challenge.

A forward from Tampa, Florida, Collin has been a cornerstone of the PMHA Male U18 Prep Buffaloes program. Throughout his time at Pilot Mound, he has established himself as a dynamic offensive player, a respected leader, and a competitor who consistently sets the standard for his teammates. His commitment to the Dauphin Kings marks a well-earned opportunity to continue his hockey journey at the Junior A level in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.

Rehn will join the Wolves Women’s Hockey program as it begins competition at the post-secondary level, marking an exciting new chapter in both her academic and athletic journey.

A goaltender from Medicine Hat, Alberta, Rehn has been a member of the PMHA Female U18 Prep Buffaloes since the 2024–25 season. Throughout her time at Pilot Mound, she has demonstrated resilience, competitiveness, and a commitment to continuous growth. Her determination in the crease and positive approach to development have made her a respected teammate and dependable presence within the program.

PMHA Names Oona Parviainen as Female U18 Prep Head Coach

Pilot Mound, Manitoba – Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (PMHA) is proud to announce the appointment of Oona Parviainen as the new Female U18 Prep Head Coach, bringing an exceptional combination of Olympic experience, championship success, and international coaching expertise to the program.

Arriving from Finland with an outstanding playing and coaching background, Parviainen brings world-class expertise, a championship mindset, and a passion for developing the next generation of elite female hockey players.

A former elite forward, Parviainen’s playing career spanned more than two decades at the highest levels of women’s hockey. She competed for some of Finland’s premier clubs, including KalPa, Espoo Blues, and RoKi, capturing an incredible nine Finnish championships while adding multiple silver and bronze medals throughout her distinguished career.

Her success extended beyond the professional ranks as she proudly represented Finland on the international stage. Parviainen competed at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City and the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Torino, while also representing her country at the 2005 IIHF Women’s World Championship in Norrköping, Sweden.

Following her decorated playing career, Parviainen transitioned seamlessly into coaching and quickly established herself as one of Finland’s most respected hockey leaders. She has coached in Finland’s women’s top league, guided RoKi from the country’s lowest division to the highest level of competition, and shared her expertise internationally as a guest coach at IIHF development camps and the USA Girls National 16/17 Player Development Camp.

Known for her honesty, approachability, and unwavering commitment to athlete development, Parviainen has earned respect throughout the hockey community for her strong hockey IQ, leadership, and ability to build high-performance environments. Her coaching philosophy combines the structure and technical precision of the European game with the speed, creativity, and physicality of North American hockey, creating a balanced approach that develops both skilled players and confident young leaders.

Frank Longo Selected as Guest Coach for Winnipeg Jets Development Camp

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy is celebrating another major milestone as Frank Longo, PMHA Goaltending Coach and Assistant Coach, has been invited to serve as a guest coach with the Winnipeg Jets’ goaltending department at the organization’s 2026 Development Camp.

The camp runs June 29 to July 3 at the Hockey for All Centre in Winnipeg, taking place immediately after the 2026 NHL Entry Draft. Longo will join the Jets’ development staff in working with newly drafted prospects and invited players as they begin their transition into professional hockey.

This marks another significant achievement in Longo’s coaching career. He previously earned an invitation to work as a guest goaltending coach with the Toronto Maple Leafs at their Development Camp—an opportunity that highlighted his growing reputation across the hockey world.

For PMHA, Longo’s continued recognition at the NHL level is a point of pride and a testament to the academy’s commitment to high‑performance development.

“Frank’s expertise and dedication will elevate our program,” Nichole Collins said. “Seeing him recognized by NHL organizations reinforces the quality of coaching our athletes receive every day.”

Longo’s involvement with the Jets provides valuable exposure not only for him, but also for the PMHA athletes he mentors—many of whom aspire to reach junior, collegiate, and professional levels.
